About Me
I was born and raised in Southern California. I received my B.S. in Biology from the University of La Verne in 2013 and my M.S. in Human Nutrition and Food Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2016. After completing my Master’s degree I started teaching in the Human Nutrition and Food Science department at Cal Poly Pomona and discovered my passion for teaching. This discovery led me to pursue my PhD in Nutritional Sciences in order to gain further knowledge and research experience that I can pass on to my future students.

Why did you choose the Nutritional Sciences Graduate Program at the University of Arizona?
I was drawn to this program due to the emphasis on cancer prevention in relation to nutrition. The interdisciplinary approach to research particularly interested me because I can combine my two previous areas of study, biology and nutrition, to help gain knowledge that will improve the health of mankind.
